New seed storage coming online!

Our custom seed storage unit arrived at UNR this morning, adding thousands of pounds of capacity to our seed bank!

In May 2024, the Nevada Native Seed Partnership was awarded $3.74 million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)/Burned Area Rehabilitation (BAR) funding to boost native seed collection, production, and use in Great Basin restoration. We are using our portion of these funds to increase our seed cleaning and storage capacity at UNR! This unit adds ~2000 lb. storage capacity, with temperature and humidity controls, back up power, and temperature monitoring, all to keep our native seeds safely tucked away.
